BCA is partnering with Ski-Doo snowmobiles and Avalanche1 once again to offer free avalanche education and awareness this fall for riders of all brands of snowmobiles. The 2020 avalanche safety seminars will be held online in 16 separate short video episodes. This format will allow riders to learn at a pace that fits within their schedule and makes it easy to re-watch sections or entire episodes ensuring they understand the material more thoroughly.
These avalanche safety courses have traditionally been held in BRP dealerships across North America for the past 12 years.
Unfortunately, the current COVID-19 situation has made it impossible to support large gatherings as many stops hosted between one and two hundred attendees – a testament to the value they provide.
All online educational episodes will be hosted by BCA sled ambassador Mike Duffy of Avalanche1. Duffy has been the instructor of all previously held BRP-sponsored United States courses and he’ll invite a few special guests to join him throughout the series.
Snowmobilers are invited to watch and learn these free online avalanche courses and to enter in the 2020 BCA Ski-Doo Fall Giveaway for a chance to win one of eight prizes (MSRP USD), including a Float 25 Turbo airbag + cylinder ($780), a Float 15 Turbo airbag + cylinder ($730), a Float 12 airbag + cylinder ($685), a T S Rescue Package ($380), a Tracker S Transceiver ($300), a pair of BC Link 1.0 Camo Radios ($320), a Stash 25 Throttle pack ($180), or a MtnPro Tunnel Bag ($125). Valid entries must be received by 11/30/20, 11:59 pm MTN. Click to enter below for full contest details.
2020 marks the fifth year that Backcountry Access has partnered with Ski-Doo to bring their expertise and reach within the backcountry and mountain recreation community.
Along with sponsoring seminars, Ski-Doo and BCA also encourage riders to use Backcountry Ascender, an online backcountry safety education platform. This free, self-directed program provides basic avalanche education and encourages traditional course attendance to advance to higher levels.
It’s never too late to improve your avalanche safety education and skills. It’s one more way the entire snowmobile community can make sure we’ll see everyone out on the snow.
STAY TUNED: Ensuring you have the opportunity to find #ThatSkiDooFeeling for many more rides to come is always priority #1. Get ready to ride with our FREE avalanche education ... going virtual later this fall.
This is the spot you will find the training videos – please come back as they are posted starting in late September!
