Southern Hemisphere’s largest heli-ski operator switches to Tracker

(June 28, 2006) - The Tracker DTS is now in use at the Southern Hemisphere's largest helicopter skiing operation. BCA's New Zealand distributor, Sportive Agencies, delivered 50 Trackers this month to Harris Mountains Heli-Ski (HMH), based in Wanaka, NZ. The company, which logged 1,600 skier-days in 2005,  will implement the fleet immediately, then purchase another 50 units in 2008, providing the existing transceivers meet the needs of their clients and guides.

"Many of our clients are first time and one-day-only heliskiers,” said HMH lead guide Hugh Barnard. "For us guides who may be relying on these clients as a first response, the Tracker has an obvious safety advantage over analogue systems."
