CAIC, Friends of the CAIC
The winter backcountry community is very unique and we should all be proud to be a part of it. When one of it’s tribe members are in need we always come together to help. This showed last weekend when Aaron Carlson and the newly formed Friends of the Colorado Avalanche Center, hosted their second annual fundraiser in Breckenridge, CO. Facing budget cuts and limited resources the Colorado Avalanche Information Center needed some support in order to keep providing their daily services, which give us the tools and knowledge to travel and enjoy the winter backcountry safely. If you are anything like me, during the winter months you check the CAIC website before brushing your teeth in the morning or enjoying that first cup of coffee. The team from the Friends of CAIC did not disappoint. They pulled off the largest fundraiser ever, raising over $35,000 for the cause. In addition to bringing in such a substantial amount of cash, the evening also included a kick ass party, featuring great micro-brews, a silent auction, door prizes, and more.

A big thanks goes out to all attendees, contributing sponsors, and Aaron, Joe and the rest of the Friends of the CAIC members.

For more information on these great organization visit, the Friends of CAIC, or the CAIC directly.
